Dull Markets and Interesting News

The nanotech index is on a new downtrend and we shouldn't have anymore interesting to say until the first week of 2006 arrives (More volume and volatility).

Until then there are a couple of interesting things to read about:

Moving Averages Support

The 50 day moving average is now supporting the nanotechnology index, now above the 192.5 point support and ready for a short term upswing.

We should have a low volume today because of Christmas but the next two weeks might be quite volatile.

The Index looks tempting for short and mid term entries:

Couple of nano news:

We got a new biotech IPO: NUCRYST PHARMA PRICES IPO

Cell-based Nano Machine Breaks Record
Researchers have known for some time that a long, fibrous coil grown by a single-cell protozoan is, gram for gram, more powerful than a car engine...

but it seems that is even more powerful since the equipment was at the maximum measurable force...

Blogging

No news on the nanotech indexes, no new highs but maybe some buying opportunities...

The CRN Blog had a couple of interesting posts and today linked to an interesting blog with some very good reading, with pictures included, about molecular manufacturing (basically advanced nanotechnology factories): Accelerating Future Blog

And check the CRN Blog in the latest entries.

There are a couple of news out there but nothing worth to mention... but it's good to know that the discussion about nanotechnology, proliferation of (decent) sites and information is accelerating. I believe we are still far away from that bright future but starting to feel the heat...

News and Charts

No news in the nanotech index since we didn't get to new highs this week so let's head into the news:

A couple of interestic news articles on Nanotechnology Now:
Materials for Printable Electronics to Reach $1.9 Billion
Magnetic Transistor Could "Dial In" Quantum Effects

I've found yet another blog about nanotechnology so check it out: Advanced Nanotechnology

There is a new nanotech index out there (not quite new, but here it is anyway) called Lux from Lux Research company.
The site seems pretty interesting and in case you are wondering, here is the chart of this alternative nanotech index:

Let's hope this week the markets get a little more interesting than the boring sideways movement.

Above the Bullish Line?

The nanotech index finally crossed the resistance line near the 200 points. Are we going to stay there or is this just a false breakout?

We will need probably more days to confirm this movement and until then lets search for some good looking nanotech stocks. The ones I've talked about in the last blog entry still apply.

More updates soon!

Bullish Looking Stocks

Back in October I started to track a couple of good looking stocks for the mid/long term. Those stocks were NVAX, ACCL and FLML.
After 2 months ACCL has some good gains and should continue the trend in the next months:

FLML kept the sideways movements but it's testing the 20 dollar resistance and should be a good stock to keep an eye on for the next weeks:

Remember these are smallcaps with low volume and high volatility. Trade for the mid/long term scenario and put a stop-loss just in case...

Another stocks that show a good growth and potential for a long term Bull rally: EMKR, OLED, TINY, VECO, WEDX.

Meanwhile the Nanotech index continues to struggle near the 200 point line and closing above 202.5 points should be good for the Bulls:

200 Point Barrier and more Nano-News

The Nanotech Index is still around the 200 point psychological barrier and, until we see new highs on the NASDAQ Composite and the S&P 500, we wont be higher on this index too:

Check this article on CRN:
Changing Scientific Opinion
The same pattern can be seen in molecular manufacturing. Despite Feynman's predictions more than 45 years ago, and evidence accumulated over the past 25 years, many scientists have refused to accept that nanoscale machines can be engineered, constructed, and used productively. The shift is coming gradually.

First, scientists had to accept that the nanoscale could be engineered at all.

Weekend Nano updates

I didn't found any scientific articles worth to mention here but I've found some nice updates on the small community of Nanotech related websites I use to visit:

There's a new update on nano-blog about Nano-tex company and other meanfull ideas.
Their clothing technology looks very promising andNano-Tex homepage has some interesting read, even if it's in the form of publicity...

I've found recently a very complete and growing nanotechnology business directory. If your nanotechnology company or product is not yet listed in this directory then this is your chance to get some attention. My Blog is already on
NanoVip's List ;)

We also had some interesting Blog updates inResponsible Nanotechnology and Molecular Torch Blogs.

More updates in the next days as we get more market data.

The Bull above the two hundred

Merrill Lynch Nanotech Stock is finally above the 200 point mark.

This could represent the end of the Bear we had in this index since it's inception, but we still have to wait for the next week of trading, to at least confirm this possible Breakout.

If we break this horizontal resistance I think it would be a good time to consider buying some stocks in this index. You can see it's components here: NNZ Components

More updates as soon as more info comes out..
